Duo Mono

Starting with a 1988 BMW R100RS we stripped the bike to the frame and de-tabbed the factory brackets. The factory Monoshock bikes lend themselves perfectly to the floating rear subframe design. We’ve deleted the lateral supports from our custom subframe, reinforced the factory mounts and box sectioned the mounts. Front and rear suspension has been upgraded to an Öhlins. The factory exhaust hangars were retained. We’ve modified the factory headers and collector to create an exhaust system with sufficient back-pressure and free-flowing performance.

The 1000cc engine was rebuilt to factory specs. The Bing carburetors were vapor blasted and re-jetted and tuned to suit the custom exhaust and drilled airbox. The Pulse-Air emissions equipment has been deleted, the starter cover and airbag have been replaced with 1977 R100RS units. The starter was upgraded to a lightweight hi-torque unit to compliment the lithium battery that is housed safely under the gas tank. The factory charge system was replaced with a modern upgraded unit, combining a digital ignition system with a crank mounted pickup and switchable curves. The heads were dual plugs and a twinspark ignition system comprises of two dual coils, one mounted under the tank and one inside the timing cover.

A 1974 headlight bucket is mounted to a pair of custom CNC’d fork ears that emulate the original deign, while also retaining the factory mounting position of the ignition barrel. The internals have been upgraded to LED for brighter light and less draw on the battery.

A Motogadget Motoscope Tiny Speedometer is tucked flush with the triple. A wireless charging phone holder is mounted Renthal motocross handlebars. Hand controls are new OEM units, modified to suit the custom wiring harness. Original factory hardware was zinc plated.

The rims are finished in satin-gloss black and have been laser engraved. The frame is finished in a Gloss Black powder coat and the gas tank is finished in a two-tone Gloss-Black:Flat-Black Glasurit paint and wears custom CNC roundels.
